Upcoming Magnificent Revolution events – Oxford, Yorkshire, Liverpool, Cambridge, Northampton, Bristol and London

From Magnificent Revolution ( www.magnificentrevolution.org )

Greetings all,

We’ve got loads of events coming up this year and we’re on the lookout for some volunteers to help us through the coming months.

There’s lots of opportunities to learn about how to use the bicycle generators, get to work on some amazing projects and find out more about Magnificent Revolution.

The big one’s that we need help on are below. Mainly we need dedicated helpers to pedal, setup, take down and generally look after the equipment during events so non-cyclists need not apply. We’re also on the lookout for designers, artists, filmmakers and generally creative types to help out with promoting our events and developing some new projects.

Volunteer travel and reasonable expenses are included but spaces are limited for each event so if you’re interested then get in touch asap.

WOOD FESTIVAL
20-24th May
Oxford
We’ll be putting together our pedal sessions kit for a weekend of folky fun in a field full of hippies just south of Oxford. We’ve done Wood since it started and I can’t think of a nicer festival to start off the year with. We need people to help out over the weekend setting up kit, liasing with bands, and filming performances.

HEBDEN BRIDGE
28-29th May
Yorkshire
We’ll be screening a few films using the cycle cinema as part of the Hebden Bridge Festival. We’ll need help setting up equipment, looking after the cyclists during the screenings and drinking cider in the country.

From council estates to railway bridges we’ll popping up around Liverpool all week and we need you guys to help us. We’ve got accomodation and travel sorted so you’ll be well looked after btu we’ll need a dedicated crew to help us set up and look after the kit during the screenings. We’re also doing Green Fuse just outside of Liverpool the next day so you can tag along, plus my parents live down the road so we can grab some home cooking on the way back to London.

CYCLE CINEMA CAMBRIDGE
12-13th June
Cambridge
We’ll hopefully be screening Yesmen Save the World and a few other gems over two days in Cambridge. We’ll need some strong legs to help us take the generators and cinema setup up to Cambridge. Don’t worry we’ll get the train out of London.

NORTHAMPTON CYCLE CINEMA
19-20th June
Northampton
Another weekend, another cycle cinema. This one’s going to be a corker, as we’ll be teaming up with Pimp My Bike to present who will be bringing down some bizarre bicycles for the performance.

BRISTOL HARBOUR FESTIVAL
30th-1st August
Bristol
Pedal Sessions at the Bristol Harbour Festival. Get to hang out in the city of cycling! We’ll be powering bands at the event and we’ll be looking for people to film the performances.

THAMES FESTIVAL
11-12th September
We’ve potentially won a commission to design a huge bicycle sculpture to display in Hay’s Galleria on South Bank as part of the Thames Festival. If we do we are going to need everyone’s help to pull this off! Old bicycle wheels will be needed. Watch this space.

I’ve attached a link to our event’s calendar where you can view all of our events in glorious technicolour. I’ll be updating this regularly If anyone is interested in helping out then email me without delay at volunteer@magnificentrevolution.org and remember to say when you’re available and any specific skills you can bring.

Feel free to pass this on to anyone you think might be interested in helping out!
